Our Villas in Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is a beautiful fishing village on the south west tip of Lanzarote. It is an ideal location for those wishing to soak up the sun in a very family friendly, peaceful location It is made up of pretty white-washed houses and shops along a pedestrianised road where you can shop for attractive gifts, clothes and food. The views from Playa Blanca are always stunning, over the sparkling blue sea to the island of Fuerteventura, or across to the beaches at Papagayo. There are no high-rise buildings and the atmosphere is warm, friendly and family oriented.

There is a choice of three golden, sandy beaches to walk to.  The pretty village beach is the closest and then also Playa Flamingo and Playa Dorada which have a selection of activities including pedalos, jet-skis and big banana and also have shops and bars behind them. The beaches are golden sand and gently sloping so great for paddling and swimming. Also the superb and more remote Papagayo beaches are a short drive away, or you can get a boat to them from the harbour.

The little harbour at Playa Blanca not only acts as host to visiting yachtsmen and the local fishermen, but is also the main terminal for the frequent, daily ferry service to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. You can also take several enjoyable boat tripe

from here, to the Papagayo beaches, Fuerteventura or the market at Marina Rubicon.

Arrecife airport is about a 30 minute drive away. Car hire is not essential as Casas del Sol and Las Brisas are in the heart of Playa Blanca only a short stroll from the village. However we would recommend car hire to see more of this beautiful island.

There are several supermarkets in the village as well as several ATM machines and banks.

There is a childrens playground and also several interesting shops where you can buy clothing, gifts and perfume. Playa Blanca has a wide variety of restaurants and a good choice of bars. The evening's entertainment would involve a good meal, a stroll along the promenade and a drink. Playa Blanca is family oriented. A couple of bars have live music or karaoke and some bars show sporting events.
